Established in 1985, Teldat is a leading multinational telecommunications equipment manufacturer. It operates in 35 countries with a broad partner and distributor network and customers in five continents. Teldat combines innovation, quality and cutting-edge technology. The company has become the front-runner in business communication and transmission data. Their technology includes:
- Corporate routers
- VoIP solutions
- Structured cabling systems
- Network operators
- Equipment access and transport
- Cloud solutions for 5G telecommunications
Teldat recognized that the new 5G networks would require technological innovation for service providers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company sought to ensure its 5G offerings were compatible with current service provider network deployments, especially in E-UTRA New Radio Dual Connectivity (ENDC) band combinations. This compatibility would enable the best performance in the initial network deployment phase or completion. ENDC allows a mobile device to exchange data between itself and the New Radio (NR) base station with simultaneous connection to LTE base stations.
Meeting Mission-Critical Services
Many services offered by companies to their clients are critical and must be available 24/7/365 to meet quality standards. Teldat offers the 5Ge and the new M10-Smart as router or 5G gateway solutions that adapt to all client scenarios and meet their technical requirements. In addition, there is the “last mile problem” for service providers. They can find a solution with Teldat’s fixed wireless access (FWA) products.
Teldat has a physical presence in several countries, especially in Europe and Latin America. It has collaboration agreements with partners that allow it to participate in projects worldwide.
“As a leading technology company, we are always innovating and introducing new solutions in our portfolio. We’re also expanding our reach in market segments such as transport and IoT, which leads us to participate in business opportunities that, in turn, require geographic expansion. We chose Telit for its 5G data card that meets the ENDC and dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) radio requirements from the main service provider in Spain, which is one of our best customers.”
— Francisco Navarro Gomez, Teldat product owner
The Telit Solution: Enabling New 5G Opportunities with High-Speed IoT Data Cards
Teldat leverages Telit’s 5G FN980 data cards in the M.2 form factor. The FN980 series empowers OEMs, system integrators and service providers to create new opportunities for bandwidth-intensive applications and use cases, including:
- FWA modems
- Industrial routers and gateways
- Private LTE and 5G networks
- Video broadcasting and surveillance equipment
Telit’s LN920 M.2 LTE-A data card series enables new devices in Teldat’s portfolio. These compact, precertified modules are available in Category (Cat) 6 and 12. The LN920 series is industrial-grade and suitable for use cases like mobile computing and IIoT routers and gateways.
The Results: Bringing Flexibility to Customers
Many of Teldat’s clients’ offices offer critical services. The 5G solution allows them to compromise on very high service-level agreements (SLAs). Where fiber or copper are not readily available (e.g., in rural areas), its FWA solution enables them to deliver the same services without detriment to the user experience.
Teldat’s 5Ge solution has two modes of operation without changing the hardware, which brings flexibility to the customer:
- A 5G radio WAN adapter mode for environments where it is impossible to make changes to the communications equipment, making it a transparent solution
- A router mode for scenarios requiring independent 5G equipment (or as a backup) with corporate services like software-defined wide-area networks (SD-WANs) included
Teldat and its main clients are participating in several 5G projects that demonstrate its solution is compatible with the radio infrastructure operators are deploying.
